Spiritual Highlights of the Yatra: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025

Mount Kailash – The Axis of the Universe

Mount Kailash is thought to be the center of the universe in Hindu cosmology. It is said that Lord Shiva stays here in meditation. Doing the Kailash Parikrama (the circumambulation) is said to wash away all karmas.

Lake Mansarovar – The Purest Body of Water

At the foot of Kailash is Lake Mansarovar. Pilgrims take a holy dip in its frozen waters to cleanse their body and soul. The lake has been said to have been formed by Brahma and is an entrance to emancipation (moksha).

The Parikrama of Mount Kailash: A Test of Faith

The three-day Parikrama trek covers approximately 52 km:

  • Day 1: Darchen to Dirapuk (north face)
  • Day 2: Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk via Dolma La Pass (5,630 m)
